These waste caused seriously environmental pollution to six indigenous groups in Amazon rainforest and at present, one of them is extinct and other five groups lost majority of their ancestral lands. Chevron also abandoned a large quantity of waste pits which are filled with noxious sludge that contain carcinogens like benzene and chromium VI to Amazon forest. In the past few decades, these toxic substances migrated into soils, groundwater and stream that are the main source of drinking water for local residents. The oil spilled out from more than 7 narrow fissures at the bottom of the sea. Finally, the oil leak was under control until the end of November but there was still some residual oil seeping from the crevices. List tasks/skills such as effective communication with co-workers, following policies and instructions from your supervisor, and meeting deadlines and goals. Doing so allows you to use a job not directly related to the job you are applying for, while pointing out the skills and tasks from that experience that do transfer into the job you want.Additional skillsYou will likely want to focus on several major skills to list your experience under, but in both traditional and skills-based rà ©sumà ©s, you can also include a section listing your hard and soft skills in table format (without additional information). Most people use skills like leadership or customer service as their primary skills, but you should also consider skills related to finding solutions to problems and organizing your workflow. Highlights of the Dorian Invasion Into Greece In about 1100 B.C., a group of men from the North, who spoke Greek invaded the Peloponnese. It is believed that an enemy, Eurystheus of Mycenae, is the leader who invaded The Dorians. The Dorians were considered the people of ancient Greece and received their mythological name from the son of Hellen, Dorus.  Their name also derives from Doris, a small place in the middle of Greece. The origin of the Dorians is not completely certain, though the general belief is that they are from Epirus or Macedonia. According to the ancient Greeks, it is possible there could have been such an invasion. If there was one, it might explain the loss of the Mycenaean civilization. Currently, there is a lack of evidence, despite 200 years worth of research. The Dark Age The end of Mycenaean civilization led to a Dark Age (1200 – 800 B.C.) which we know very little about, apart from archaeology. Specifically, when The Dorians conquered the Minoans and Mycenaean civilizations, The Dark Age emerged. It was the period in which the harder and cheaper metal iron replaced bronze as a material for weapons and farm implements. The Dark Age ended when the Archaic Age began in the 8th century. The Culture of the Dorians The Dorians also brought The Iron Age (1200–1000 B.C.)  with them when the main material to make tools was made out of iron. One of the main materials they created was the iron sword with the intention to slash. It is believed that the Dorians owned land and evolved into aristocrats. This was at the time where monarchy and kings as a form of government were becoming outdated, and land ownership and democracy became a key form of rule. Power and rich architecture were amongst several of the influences from the Dorians. In regions of war, like Sparta, the Dorians made themselves military class and made the original population slaves of agriculture.  In city-states, the Dorians coupled with Greek people for political power and business and also helped influence Greek art, such as through their invention of choral lyrics in the theater. The Descent of the Heracleidae The Dorian Invasion is connected with the return of the sons of Hercules (Heracles), who are known as the Heracleidae.  According to the Heracleidae, the Dorian land was under the ownership of Heracles. This allowed the Herakleids and Dorians to become socially intertwined. While some refer to the events prior to classical Greece as the Dorian Invasion, others have understood it as the Descent of the Heraclidae. There were several tribes amongst The Dorians which included Hylleis,  Pamphyloi, and Dymanes. The legend is that when the Dorians were pushed out of their homeland, the sons of Hercules  eventually inspired the Dorians to battle their enemies in order to take back control of the Peloponnese. The people of Athens were not forced to migrate during this unsettled period, which put them in a unique position among the Greeks.

How many of us must have that morning cup of coffee before heading out the door? How many college students are staying up late at night preparing for a mid-term or final exam by drink these new, all natural, safe, energy drinks? You may want to read their labels and adjust your thinking. You may want to include a little research in regards to these drinks. At this time there is no long-term research to report on in regards to energy drinks. What we do know is that these drinks have a variety of ingredients such as ginseng, amino acids, ginkgo, various vitamins, and high amounts of sugar. However, the primary active energy ingredient is caffeine. At this time, the FDA does not regulate the amounts of caffeine that are in these drinks. They suggest that within a 12-ounce beverage serving the amount of caffeine should be 68 milligrams or less. A report published by the Journal of Analytical Toxicology showed that of ten of the most popular energy drinks had as high as 141 milligrams in one 16-ounce serving. The following 12-ounce energy drinks showed, Monster at 120 milligrams, Red Bull at 116 milligrams, and Amp contained 107 milligrams of caffeine. To give a comparison, look at Coke and Pepsi. They only contain between 34 to 38 milligrams of caffeine. Energy drinks have risen significantly in popularity in the last few years with revenues exceeding $3. 5 billion a year and growing. One report states that with the new found popularity there are growing concerns of the possible health effects among children, adolescents, and young adults. It states that 30 to 50 percent of America drinks energy drinks. Of this amount they report that one third are from the ages of 12 to 24 consume these beverages on a daily basis. Due to these beverages being chilled makes them easier to consume quickly. High doses of caffeine have been linked to seizures, cardiac problems, mood or behavioral disorders, and diabetes. Additionally, these problems have been linked specifically to the consumption of energy drinks among children, teens, and young adults. There has been a growing concern amongst the medical community, parents, and school officials in regards to these energy drinks on our youth. Numerous reports are being found to the adverse affects these high caffeine drinks are responsible for. The Illinois Poison Control Center reported in a recent survey of more than 250 cases of caffeine overdose in a three-year period. The average age of these accounts was 21. A doctor from California reports that an eighteen year young man received treatment for an abnormal heart rhythm after consuming eight 16-ounce energy drinks per evening to remain alert during his night job. Another growing concern is the use of these energy drinks as a mixer with alcohol. A study from 2006 showed that the individuals surveyed were just as impaired in motor coordination and reaction time as individuals drinking alcohol alone. As stated earlier, there is not much evidence on the effects of long-term use of caffeine on children or teenagers. It is known that it can create physiological and psychological dependence in adults. This being true, we must do everything possible to protect our children from these non-regulated beverages. We need to insist on more research to be conducted in order to better inform the public of the consequences of the consumption of these highly-caffeinated energy drinks and the adverse effects they have on our youth. An Analytical Essay on the Humor in Hamlet The Tragedy of Hamlet Essays

Humor was added to Hamlet by two major scenes, along with Hamlet's use of his antic-disposition. These two were: the scene between Hamlet and Polonius in the library, and the scene with the grave diggers (the clowns).    The scene between Hamlet and Polonius took place in Act II Scene 2. In Hamlet's first encounter with Polonius, he immediately insulted the old man by calling him a "fishmonger". He then quickly changed his opinion and complemented Polonius by calling him an honest man. Hamlet said, "to be honest, as this world goes, is to be one man picked out of ten thousand". As we know Polonius definitely was not such a man. Hamlet was portrayed as a clever lad, who was playing a psychological game with an old fool. He asked Polonius whether or not he had a daughter, pretending he did not know that Ophelia was Polonius's daughter. When Hamlet was asked about what he was reading, he replied by saying, "words, words, words". Throughout this scene, Hamlet revealed himself to Polonius as a mentally unstable man. He was playing a fool himself, while ingeniously using this to make Polonius look like an even bigger fool. He cleverly insulted Polonius' appearances indirectly, by referring to the book he was reading. According to that book old men had grey beards, their faces were wrinkled, they had a plentiful lack of wit, and so on. He was describing Polonius exactly. Perhaps the most humorous part took place when Hamlet, while saying, "for yourself, sir, shall grow old as I am, if like a crab you could go backward",   he advanced towards Polonius, causing him to walk backwards. Those words and the actions on the stage   revealed Hamlet to be a daring young man. When Polonius finally left, Hamlet dropped his pretense and yelled, "These tedious old fools!". In Act III Scene 2, Hamlet used a recorder, the musical instrument, as a telescope when Polonius entered the scene. He asked Polonius, "Do you see yonder cloud that's almost in shape of a camel?". Hamlet always pretended to be the madman in front of Polonius, while he actually made him look like an old fool.    The scene with the grave diggers (the clowns), took place in Act V Scene I. The clowns were discussing Ophelia's death and were making fun of the case of Sir James Hales, who also drowned himself.

They are Work Family Conflict Scale developed by R.G.Netemeyer, J.S. Boles, R.McMurrian (1996) and Job-Satisfaction Scale (JSS-R) by Dr.B.L.Gupta (2009). In the study the indepenpedent varia bles are Work intereference with family (WIF), Family intereference with work (FIW) and gender. The dependent variable in the study is Job-satisfaction. Statistical analysis was done with the help of MS-Excel 2010. In statistical analysis, mean, standard deviations, T-tests and Pearson’s coefficient of correlation was calculated. The findings of the study broadly explain the impact of work-family conflict on job-satisfaction among males and females. The analysis of the sample population made it clear that there is no significant gender difference in the level of perception of work-family conflict and job-satisfaction. Work family conflict is a conflict between different roles of life i.e. work and family. It is always the result of imbalance between the individual’s work and family life. It arises when people fail to fulfil their responsibilities in both the areas as well as towards their personal development. There is various cause of work-family conflict such as long working hours, increased family demands, increased work-pressure, personality differences etc. These factors increase the incongruity in work and family domains and eventually result into work-family conflict. Job-satisfaction is usually defined as the level of contentment or gratification an individual has with his/her working environment. It is none other than his or her attitude toward the work, nature of tasks, supervision, colleagues, environment etc. Job-satisfaction doesn’t get affected by any one aspect of the job but it is something which gets generated by the cumulative facets of one’s job or work. Hence we can easily assume that it is not the one dimensional concept rather a multidimensional construct. Now we take into account the negative correlation of work-family conflict and job-satisfaction level of males and females. It was found in the result that there was a negative correlation between the two which means greater the work-family conflict, lesser the job satisfaction and vice-versa. The finding of the research is also supported by Patel C.J, Beekhan A, Paruk Z, Ramgoon S (2008) who studied work-family conflict, job satisfaction and spousal support. They discovered the effect of work on functioning of the family and its association to job satisfaction and it was found in the study that work-family conflict and job satisfaction was negatively correlated. On further analysis of the gender differences between males and females, we found that there was no significant difference between male and female in the level of perception of work-interference to family (WIF). Similarly it was also found that there was no significant gender difference in the perception of family interference to work (FIW). The above results are well supported by the study done by Sadia Aziz Ansari (2011) who studied the occurrence of WIF and FIW in both the genders. The outcome of the study showed that there was no significant gender difference in relation to work interference with family and family interference with work. There was no significant difference between work-family conflict and job-satisfaction of males and females. HYPOTHESES TESTING There would be a negative correlation between Work-Family Conflict and Job-Satisfaction. The stated hypothesis was accepted as the Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r) was -0.22. It indicates that as the work-family conflict increases, job-satisfaction decreases and vice-versa. Family interfering with work would be more prevalent in women as compared to men. The stated hypothesis was rejected since t-value (0.11) was not significant. Work interfering with family would be more prevalent in women as compared to men. The stated hypothesis was rejected since t-value (0.24) was not significant. There would be no significant difference on work-family conflict and job satisfaction of men and women. The t scores for work-family conflict and job satisfaction of men and women are 0.69 and 0.61 which are not the significant score. Hence our hypothesis stands accepted. CHAPTER-6 SUMMARY CONCLUSION SUMMARY The present investigation is titled as â€Å"Work-Family Conflict and Job-Satisfaction in Married men and women.. The concerned study is conducted on a sample of 80 with 30 (50%) males and 30 (50%) females were taken from universities across Noida , Uttar Pradesh . The study used the standardised test of Work-Family Conflict by R.G.Netemeyer, J.S.Boles, R.McMurrian (1996) and Job-satisfaction scale by Dr. B.L.Gupta (2009). The study showed that there is a negative correlation between Work-Family Conflict and Job-Satisfaction among males and females. This indicates there is an inverse relation between the two. The more the work-family conflict among individuals the lesser the job-satisfaction and vice-versa. The present study determines also revealed that there is no significant gender difference in the perception of work to family conflict and family to work conflict. It was also shown in the study that there was no significant gender difference on work-family conflict and job-satisfaction. To make the research more scientific the following hypothesis were made There would be a negative correlation between Work-Family Conflict and Job-Satisfaction. Family interfering with work would be more prevalent in women as compared to men. Work interfering with family would be more prevalent in women as compared to men. There would be no significant difference on work-family conflict and job satisfaction of men and women. The findings of the research suggests There is correlation between Work-Family Conflict and Job-Satisfaction. It indicates that as the work-family conflict increases, job-satisfaction decreases and vice-versa. There is no significant gender difference in the perception of family interfering with work. There is no significant gender difference in the perception of work interfering with family. There is no significant difference in work-family conflict and job-satisfaction of males and females. CONCLUSION Work-family conflict and Job-satisfaction has a negative correlation. It mean they have inverse connection. If work-family conflict increases jobs-satisfaction tends to decline and vice-versa. There is no gender difference in the level of perception of work-to-family conflict and family-to-work conflict. There is no significant gender difference in job-satisfaction and work-family conflict. LIMITATIONS The present investigation may have some limitations as it was carried out in a short period of time and with limited resources. Some important limitations are: Due to sensitivity of the topic individuals might not have disclosed the truth completely. There was no control over other relevant variables. Small sample size might have the effect on the results. PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS Work-family conflict is a strong predictor of job-satisfaction among employees suggests that by being flexible as an employer one can increase the level of job-satisfaction. For reducing work-life conflict and increasing job-satisfaction level, an individual should learn to prioritize tasks. It would help him/her in a positive manner. If an individual is facing stress at work-place due to which he/she having conflicts with the family, in this case they need to identify the stressors and work upon them. Also they can communicate with their family members and share their concerns. Lastly it is very important to take out personal time i.e. a time which they spend with themselves. It will reduce the stress and pressure of an individual which would eventually lower the conflicts.
