Work-Family Conflict and Job-Satisfaction in Married Couples DISCUSSION A struggle which is common in most of the people nowadays is Work-family conflict. It is a battle which everybody is fighting i.e. to maintain the balance between work and family. This conflict is also affecting major sub-areas of work and family life and one of those areas is Job-satisfaction. Hence the present research study was aimed to find the relationship between work-family conflict and job-satisfaction and therefore is titled as â€Å"Work-Family Conflict and Job-Satisfaction in Married Couples.† The study was conducted on the sample of 80 i.e. n=80 which comprised 40 (50%) males and 40 (50%) females. All the participants were the university professors at Amity University Sec-125 Noida, Uttar Pradesh. For the conduction of research study, two standardized questionnaires were used. They are Work Family Conflict Scale developed by R.G.Netemeyer, J.S. Boles, R.McMurrian (1996) and Job-Satisfaction Scale (JSS-R) by Dr.B.L.Gupta (2009). In the study the indepenpedent varia bles are Work intereference with family (WIF), Family intereference with work (FIW) and gender. The dependent variable in the study is Job-satisfaction. Statistical analysis was done with the help of MS-Excel 2010. In statistical analysis, mean, standard deviations, T-tests and Pearson’s coefficient of correlation was calculated. The findings of the study broadly explain the impact of work-family conflict on job-satisfaction among males and females. The analysis of the sample population made it clear that there is no significant gender difference in the level of perception of work-family conflict and job-satisfaction. Work family conflict is a conflict between different roles of life i.e. work and family. It is always the result of imbalance between the individual’s work and family life. It arises when people fail to fulfil their responsibilities in both the areas as well as towards their personal development. There is various cause of work-family conflict such as long working hours, increased family demands, increased work-pressure, personality differences etc. These factors increase the incongruity in work and family domains and eventually result into work-family conflict. Job-satisfaction is usually defined as the level of contentment or gratification an individual has with his/her working environment. It is none other than his or her attitude toward the work, nature of tasks, supervision, colleagues, environment etc. Job-satisfaction doesn’t get affected by any one aspect of the job but it is something which gets generated by the cumulative facets of one’s job or work. Hence we can easily assume that it is not the one dimensional concept rather a multidimensional construct. Now we take into account the negative correlation of work-family conflict and job-satisfaction level of males and females. It was found in the result that there was a negative correlation between the two which means greater the work-family conflict, lesser the job satisfaction and vice-versa. The finding of the research is also supported by Patel C.J, Beekhan A, Paruk Z, Ramgoon S (2008) who studied work-family conflict, job satisfaction and spousal support. They discovered the effect of work on functioning of the family and its association to job satisfaction and it was found in the study that work-family conflict and job satisfaction was negatively correlated. On further analysis of the gender differences between males and females, we found that there was no significant difference between male and female in the level of perception of work-interference to family (WIF). Similarly it was also found that there was no significant gender difference in the perception of family interference to work (FIW). The above results are well supported by the study done by Sadia Aziz Ansari (2011) who studied the occurrence of WIF and FIW in both the genders. The outcome of the study showed that there was no significant gender difference in relation to work interference with family and family interference with work. There was no significant difference between work-family conflict and job-satisfaction of males and females. HYPOTHESES TESTING There would be a negative correlation between Work-Family Conflict and Job-Satisfaction. The stated hypothesis was accepted as the Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r) was -0.22. It indicates that as the work-family conflict increases, job-satisfaction decreases and vice-versa. Family interfering with work would be more prevalent in women as compared to men. The stated hypothesis was rejected since t-value (0.11) was not significant. Work interfering with family would be more prevalent in women as compared to men. The stated hypothesis was rejected since t-value (0.24) was not significant. There would be no significant difference on work-family conflict and job satisfaction of men and women. The t scores for work-family conflict and job satisfaction of men and women are 0.69 and 0.61 which are not the significant score. Hence our hypothesis stands accepted. CHAPTER-6 SUMMARY CONCLUSION SUMMARY The present investigation is titled as â€Å"Work-Family Conflict and Job-Satisfaction in Married men and women.. The concerned study is conducted on a sample of 80 with 30 (50%) males and 30 (50%) females were taken from universities across Noida , Uttar Pradesh . There is no significant gender difference in job-satisfaction and work-family conflict. LIMITATIONS The present investigation may have some limitations as it was carried out in a short period of time and with limited resources. Some important limitations are: Due to sensitivity of the topic individuals might not have disclosed the truth completely. There was no control over other relevant variables. Small sample size might have the effect on the results. PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS Work-family conflict is a strong predictor of job-satisfaction among employees suggests that by being flexible as an employer one can increase the level of job-satisfaction. For reducing work-life conflict and increasing job-satisfaction level, an individual should learn to prioritize tasks. It would help him/her in a positive manner. If an individual is facing stress at work-place due to which he/she having conflicts with the family, in this case they need to identify the stressors and work upon them. Also they can communicate with their family members and share their concerns. Lastly it is very important to take out personal time i.e. a time which they spend with themselves. Pointed Arch (Architecture)

Arches appeared as early as the 2nd millennium BC in Mesopotamia brick architecture. The systematic use of Arches started with ancient Romans. They were the first to have applied the techniques of arch too wide range of structures. Pointed arch is one of the most important types of Arches. It is an arch with a pointed apex. Another name for pointed arch is â€Å"jovial arch†. ‘Give' meaner a pointed curve.Today, the pointed arch remains a common feature in the European churches. It is a very important feature of European Gothic architecture and Islamic Architecture. The question is where did the pointed arch originate from? Early historians of architecture such as Have (1913) and Riviera (1914) thought that the pointed arch occurred in India carved out of a solid block o f some seventh century temples. However, this information has been dismissed by a famous historian, Hill (1993). Hill believed the Muslim origin of the invention of the pointed arch, which is today, believed to be the truth.Before the discovery of Pointed arches, round arches and barrel vaults were used to make ceilings. These arches had a great weight. Another problem faced with the use of round arches in the churches was, the issues with the shape and weight distribution. For making round arches over a church bay, the bay had to be square in shape because if two sides of a bay measured one width and tow of the other sides measure another width, the tops of the arches across these widths would not be at the same height. Rounded arches could not support the increased height, width and weight of new building designs.Similarly, problems were raised with the use of vaults. Pointed Arches solved these problems. Pointed arches were used to help support the weight of vaulted ceilings. The concept of the pointed arch operates in a similar manner as two leaning objects. Two sides off pointed arch lean against each other for support and the increased force and loads placed on the arches from the ceiling is displaced onto the flying buttresses, which are supported by the ground. The increased roof support provided by the pointed arches allowed building walls to be thinner. Decorative details seen on arches were a natural consequence of Gothic sign.They also made it easier to make more windows and taller heights. -A pointed Arch The first appearance of the pointed arch in the Muslim World was traced to the Al- Ass Mosque (780), however the first building where the pointed arch was used constructively and systematically is the Palace of Shadier in Iraq. Bin Tulle Mosque was a source for the transfer of the pointed arch to Europe. It was built by Mad bin Tulle the semi-independent ruler of Egypt in 870. Due to its good state of preservation the Bin Tulle Mosque provides an excellent example of ninth-century decoration and structural techniques.The central courtyard fade consists of slightly pointed arches resting on rectangular piers with engaged collocates. This was an unusual arrangement for Cairo where marble columns were usually considered for use. There are rectangular arches with engaged collocates between the arches. A band of sunken rosettes divided into eight lobes on either side of each niche forms a cornice running around four faces of the courtyard. Carved stucco work decorates the interior of the mosque. Coffins of the arches of the sanctuary are the best examples where geometric interlace patterns are filled with stylized leaf armament like Samara stucco style.

Punctuality

Every person in this world has morals and ethics that are differ from other. If people do not respect their morals and ethics, then obviously they do not respect their selves. For instance, respecting the time or punctuality is surely included in the personal ethics. It is important for each person to be punctual because it is conveys the personal ethics and increases the trusts of others. Academically, not being punctual will cause the student to miss information, failing classes and lose respect.The most significant effect of not being punctual is the student will miss classes, and that’s will cause the students to miss information. This information could range from pop quizzes to homeworks due dates. Furthermore, if the students permanently come late to the classes or misses it, they would not know about the homeworks due date or any information about it. Additionally, the students who are not punctual have a bigger chance of having lower grades on pop quizzes. Consequently , not respecting time will absolutely determine the total grade.Also, if the student has an assigned presentation to do and he/she are not punctual, he/she will fail to present what is assigned for them. Ultimately, the few minutes the students miss means more grades to lose. Secondly, the consequences of losing grades are apparently failing the classes. As a result, the student will have a lower GPA and will be dismissed from the university. The only thing that each student does not want to have is a low GPA, and that is why they study hard and put more effort on it.As a consequence, the A student is always punctual and will never miss any class. Because of having a lower GPA and not respecting punctuality, the student will be dismissed from the university. Surely no student wants to be dismissed from the university but punctuality is one of the unbreakable rules of the university. Accordingly, the student will face a hard time getting accepted from other universities, which most p robably will reject the admission request because of not respecting punctuality.One of the main effects of not being punctual, that the student will lose instructors, classmates and family respect. Firstly, the student who does not respect the class time and always comes late will lose the respect of the instructor. As a result, the instructors won’t be helpful to these students when it comes to the grades. Furthermore, the classmates will lose faith and trust on those who are not punctual. Because of their habits they can’t be trusted especially when it comes to studying and doing a group projects.Also, after being dismissed from the university and basically losing all the opportunities of having a good life, the family will not respect the unpunctual student and will treats them as a child. Because they spent so much money and time, and they are rewarded by being unpunctual. Finally, Punctuality is substantial and it must be respected from all the people. It is a mir ror for people’s ethics and countries culture. Personally, I would not go to the class rather than going late.
